What does your job involve exactly?
As the event manager, I’m responsible for pretty much every aspect of the event, from start to finish. I ensure everyone knows what needs to be done and that it actually happens. This means I stay in touch with everyone involved, including the client, the kitchen staff, and other tenants of the building, among many, many others. Since we don’t have a full events team at the moment, I also take on some additional tasks. I kind of dove into the deep end here, and while it’s challenging, I love it!

What caught your attention in the job listing that made you apply to Daalder Culinair?
Initially, I applied for the marketing position because I already had some experience in that field. However, during the interview with Maartje, she suggested that another position might suit me better. I was still studying event management at the time, so this opportunity seemed perfect for me. I immediately withdrew my applications with other companies because I knew I had to seize this opportunity!

So you were studying while working here?
Yes, I was simultaneously studying the theory while gaining practical experience. But I must admit, in the end, you learn the most on the job.

What events are you currently working on?
At the moment, a is still in the pipeline. But in recent months, for example, we had a company party here for 600 people with all food stands. And a dinner for 80 people with food and drinks.But also, for example, a congress for the municipality of Amsterdam. It can vary a lot. The range of events I handle can vary greatly.

What makes this job so much fun?That variety. You are constantly meeting or collaborating with different people. When I get to the office, I never know what will happen next. I like that!

You’re still relatively new to the team, but is there anything specific you’d like to organise or achieve in this role one day?
Organising an event has always been my dream. So I am particularly looking forward to that: to the first event I have organised myself entirely from start to finish.
